Spot Plays for 7/24/2009

River Downs

Race 1: # 2 French Chew ran a decent second last out and should take another step forward today. She was facing the boys in that race and ran into a buzzsaw in Cross Sabers. She returns to facing the fillies which could truly help. She has come up against some tough competition in her last couple and faces softer today. Look for a winning run from French Chew today.

Race 5: # 5 Camp Commander drops in class today and should improve greatly. He has never faired well over the turf so moving back to dirt could help him. He drops back to the claiming ranks and picks up the non-winners of four condition which will be key. Gets a new jock in Jorge Bracho which will help today. Look for a good run from Camp Commander

Race 9: # 3 Southern Sweet Tea has won three in a row on dirt and should make it four in a row today. She has a fair amount of early speed when on her game and has the speed numbers to fit with this bunch. She gets a new jock in Otto Thorwarth who has won with this filly before and should get Southern Sweet Tea home first.

Arlington Park

Race 7: # 6 Royal Highland drops in class for this run and should improve greatly. She tried stakes company last out in a race that was moved from the turf and didn't show anything. Her last effort against this class was a decent second behind a stakes winner so she should've gained something from that. Since her last run she has a decent workout over the oval and could be fit to run today with Jesse Campbell in the irons.
