Spot Plays for 7/29/2009

Saratoga

Race 1: # 7 Good Prospect ran well against similar two starts back and since then has improved. He is a strong turf runner that has showed some talent in the past and could be on his game. He's been based up here since shipping north from Florida and could pop at a price. He comes from a sharp turf barn and has one of the best jocks in Alan Garcia taking the reigns. Look for a big effort from Good Prospect today.

Race 3: # 8 Honour Devil makes his US debut today and should be sharp for this outing. He is a mulitple graded stakes winner in Dubai and ran well in his last start over there. He runs very well at these extended sprint distances and since his last start has put in a string of good workouts at Belmont and Saratoga for his return. He moves to a sharp barn and gets a very underrated rider in Rajiv Maragh who can guide Honour Devil to the wire first today.

Race 7: # 8 Trappe Shot makes his first start today and this son of Tapit should win for fun. He has been working strongly for this effort including a bullet workout over this oval which shows he likes it. He debuts for the team of McLaughlin and Garica who are a very potent team. Look for Trappe Shot to win for fun today.

Race 9: # 4 Aegean makes her return to the US today looking to get home on top. She ran poorly over the grass last out and might improve. She gets back on Lasix which could be key as her fading might have been a result of bleeding. Since her last race she has a couple of sharp workouts and should be fit to roll today for trainer Wesley Ward.
