Spot Plays for 5/31/2009

River Downs

Race 1: # 5 Noneofyourbeeswax makes her debut today and seems ready to run big right off the bat. She is nicely bred and has a string of sharp workouts that show she is good to go. She gets a speed mined rider in Perry Ouzts who should get her out of the gate quickly. Look for this Mike Rone trainee to run away from the field today.

Race 3: # 3 Aurora's Secret steps up in class today but should run his best race and spring the upset. His last effort was big and he dispatched of a decent group of $4,000 claimers. Stepping up the the $5,000 shouldn't be an issue as he has faced similar in the past and done very well. He owns three wins over this oval and should make it four today with Yuri Yaranga in the saddle.

Race 7: # 2 Redhot Runner makes his third start off of the bench and has a chance to upset the field today. He has some tactical speed so he should be close to the lead. He doesn't need the lead to win but does need to sit close to the pace in the early stages. He needed that last effort and should be fit and ready to rock in this spot today.

Arlington Park

Race 6: # 6 One True Thing darted to the lead last out and just faded on a turf course that might have been too heavy for him. Getting on a course with a little less water in it should help him carry that speed. That last run was his first in a couple of months and he might have needed that run. Chris Emigh remains in the saddle which is a good sign.

Race 8: # 5 Jenna Lu Hu ran well in her return to the turf and hopefully can parlay that into a victory today. She had been facing weaker until that last run and showed a ton of promise in that run. She gets back on the grass today and gets a new jock in E. T. Baird who is riding very well so far at Arlington. Look for Jena Lu Hu to return victorious today.

Churchill Downs

Race 5: # 5 Happenstance returns to her favorite surface and should get the job done today. Her best effort was on the lawn and she didn't seem to take to the polytrack at all. Since her last start she has put in a few decent workouts to get ready and gets the riding services of Shaun Bridgmohan who is quielty having a decent meet at Churchill. Look for Happenstance to turn things around today.

Race 8: # 6 Jazz Nation drops in class today looking to regain his winning form. He has been over his head lately facing the likes of Semaphore Man, Chamberlain Bridge and Mr. Nightlinger and lucky for him none of them are in this spot. Since his last effort he has a decent work over the oval and surely can get the job done today. Miguel Mena rides for D. Wayne Lukas

Spot Plays for 5/30/2009

River Downs

Race 5: # 4 Buzz Bunny makes his second start for new connections today and should take another step forward. His last effort was second off the poly and he showed some promise. He may have needed that last effort to get fit and he has won over this oval before so he shouldn't have any issues handling the surface. He gets the riding services of Edgar Paucar which is a positive sign. Look for a big run from Buzz Bunny today.

Race 7: # 4 The Potters Hand returns to his favorite surface today and should run much better today. He has never seemed to handle dirt so running on grass today should work to his favor. He does okay here at River and could be fit with this being his second start off of a slight layoff If ready look for a winning effort from The Potters Hand today

Race 11: # 7 Hurley's Way makes his Ohio debut today looking to get back to the winner's circle today. He has been based out in Cali facing much tougher at Hollywood, Oak Tree and Del Mar. In the past he has faced the likes of Chocolate Candy and I Want Revenge so we know he has been in tough. He has a workout over this oval and should be in good shape today. In the barn of Dougie Cowans for the first time look for Hurley's Way to top the ticket with Rodney Prescott in the saddle.

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 5 Trojan War won well in his Arlington debut and looks to make it two in a row today. Since that last run he has put in a solid workout over the oval to get ready and should be able to handle the stretchout to 6 1/2 furlongs today. The Donnie Von Hemel barn is on fire this season and Quincy Hamilton is on the hunt for win number 1,000. Look for a big effort from Trojan War today.

Churchill Downs

Race 6: # 9 Queen of Empire makes her debut today looking to get the job done at first asking. She is bred to handle the distance as well as the turf and seems to be fit. She has a string of workouts to get prepped and gets the riding services of Corey Lanerie who is quietly having a solid season at Churchill. Look for Queen of Empire to be crowned victorious today.

Race 8: # 2 Hightap returns from a layoff today looking to regain her winning form today. She had put together two winning efforts before shipping to Oaklawn and didn't show anything there. Since then she has put in a few decent workouts over the Churchill oval and seems to be in shape. She runs for the hottest connections on the grounds in Bridgmohan and Asmusssen and should find the wire first today.

Race 10: # 9 Bold Start steps up in class today but seems ready for the challenge. He always seems to run well over this oval and should grab that elusive graded stakes win he has been seeking. He is a much better runner on dirt than turf and the Ken McPeek barn is really cooking right now. Look for a big win from Bold Start today.

Spot Plays for 5/29/2009

River Downs

Race 6: # 9 Friendlyaccusation tired last out and should be much fitter for today's outing. He had spent his whole career sprinting and just couldn't last in that route race. With this being his second distance race he should be fitter and ready to fire. He gets a new jock in Hector Rosario, Jr. who could get Friendlyaccusation home first today.

Arlington Park

Race 6: # 10 Load a Chronic just missed last out and should get to the top spot today. He handled the soft turf pretty well last time and seems to prefer turf to dirt or all-weather surfaces. He might have regressed a little in that last run and surely he can rebound today. Eddie Razo, Jr. retains the mount for Manny Perez today.

Race 10: # 6 Numismatist drops in class for this outing and should improve greatly today. He didn't handle the poly at all in his last outing and could improve moving to grass since he has never missed the board on turf. Only issue is will he handle this turf course as it is much different than the grass he ran on down in the south. The Donnie Von Hemel barn is hot right now and with Eddie Razo, Jr. back in the saddle look for a return to form for Numismatist today

Spot Plays for 5/28/2009

Arlington Park

Race 9: # 1 Robin My Girl won for fun last out and should double up today. She dropped in class for that last effort to gain some confidence and hopefully can stay on a roll stepping back up today. She does very well over polytrack and with Chris Emigh back in the iron look for a big run from Robin My Girl today.

Lone Star Park

Race 4: # 10 Smile Atem makes his debut today and should run well in this debut. He has put in a fare amount of workouts to prep for this and seems to be in good shape. His breeding suggest he might handle the turf tonight and if he fires he should spring an upset. Martin Escobar picks up the mount today.

Presque Isle Downs

Race 7: # 4 Oh So Nice won well last time at Keeneland and should put together another winning effort tonight. Her best efforts have been over all-weather surfaces and surely she can run another big one. She is very well bred and should have no issues with this bunch today. Rosemary Homeister, Jr. picks up the mount today for trainer John Sheppard.

Spot Plays for 5/27/2009

River Downs

Race 8: # 5 Witches Fuhry got the trip from hell last out and should improve today. She is better when on the lead and with the lack of speed in this spot she should get a better trip. She has handled turf as well as dirt and if this race gets moved to the main track she still could run big. Perry Ouzts retains the mount which is a good sign.

Race 12: # 6 Play the Hero makes his second start off the bench and could be very effective today. He is much better at route racing than sprinting so the stretch out will be key today. This runner has run well on the turf and can hold his own on the dirt. He gets the barn's go to rider in Nathan Solomon who should get Play the Hero to the wire first today.

Indiana Downs

Race 3: # 4 Away I Go ships to Indy for the first time and should get the job done today. Trainer Sherman Mitchell is a very underrated turf trainer so look for Away I Go to get overlooked in the wagering. His form has been improving as of late and this race should hit him right in the head. With Tommy Pompell in the saddle look for Away I Go to spring a mild upset today.

Race 5: # 6 Rahystrada makes his second start off of a layoff today and should run well. He was a bit over his head in this return at Keeneland and should fit right in here at Indiana Downs. Leandro Goncalves is a solid rider on this circuit and should get Rahystrada home first today.

Race 7: # 9 Castles in the Sky steps up in class for this race and should run a big one. He just missed against allowance company at Gulfstream and has the speed to outsprint most of this field. Since that Gulfstream race he has a solid workout at Presque Isle showing that he is fit and ready to roll. Look for this Jaime Ness trainee to get home first tonight.

Spot Plays for 5/25/2009

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 2 Denim makes his second start off of a layoff today and should get the job done today. His last race was taken off the turf and he might not have handled the polytrack all that well. He runs much better on grass especially Arlington's grass where both of his wins have come. Since that effort he has put in two good workouts for this run and should be fit today. Lyndie Wade gets the return call today

Lone Star Park

Race 7: # 3 Ernesto is a true horse for course looking to spring the upset against the shippers today. His last effort was strong and should have set him up for this run. He is not as classy as some of the others he is facing today but his grit and toughness could be enough to get him through. With Glen Murphy getting back aboard look for a winning run from Ernesto today.

Mountaineer

Race 4: # 6 Blues Street makes his debut at the Mountain tonight and has a chance in this spot. He is rounding into form with a decent win at Gulfstream against allowance company. Since then he has put in a couple of workouts at Delaware for this return and the Todd Pletcher barn is always solid. Kendrick Carmouche picks up the mount today.

Spot Plays for 5/23/2009

River Downs

Race 8: # 7 Eyes for Hannah is rounding into form and should be very effective today. He tried to get on the lawn two starts ago but was rained off and could finally get to the wire first with a return to the grass. He has hit the board in seven of eight grass runnings and hopefully can get home first today. Azael De Leon retains the mount.

Race 12: # 5 Burky's Pride won for fun last time out and looks to double up today. He faced similar runners in his last at Beulah and hopefully can carry that form to the River today. This field is a bit tougher than what he faced at Beulah but his past experience here should help. With Edgar Paucar in the saddle look for a winning run from Burky's Pride

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 8 Afternoon Stroll is a gusty filly that is looking to win her second straight today. She just held on over the lawn at Keeneland and the grit she showed it key. Since that last effort she has fired two sharp workouts at Presque Isle which is the summer base of her trainer Tim Hamm. With Jamie Theriot back in the saddle look for another winning effort from Afternoon Stroll today

Race 10: # 8 Coragil Cat is a true horse for course on the Arlington poly and should get home first today. He return to the oval was a sharp win in the prep for this stakes and since then he has put in a decent work that shows he's fit. Diego Sanchez fits well with this runner and surely they can get the job done today.

Race 11: # 6 Flashmans Papers returns to the turf today and should be much more effective. He tried the polytrack at Santa Anita and didn't show much last out and a return to the lawn helps greatly. Brice Blanc comes east for this mount which is a key sign. Look for a big run from Flashmans Papers today

Spot Plays for 5/22/2009

River Downs

Race 9: # 6 Devil's Lil Bit drops in class for this effort and should get the job done today. She was in over her head last out on the turf and against open company. She moves back to the dirt and returns to facing state-bred foes again. She has never tried this distance but her running style suggest that she should handle it. Cesar Camaque retains the mount today.

Race 11: # 4 Sweet Talkin Rose moves back to the starter allowance ranks for this effort and should be on top of her game. Her last start was the first in a while and she might have needed that effort. That allowance race came up tough and the sideways move to the starter ranks should help her out. She loves this oval and is very good at this distance so hopefully she will round into form today. Look for a winning efffort from Sweet Talkin Rose today

Churchill Downs

Race 5: # 6 Chapel Affair makes his third start off of a layoff today and should be ready to roll. He just missed last out on Oaks day and should improve greatly on a fast track. He has been improving greatly in his last couple and should find the wire first today. Corey Lanerie picks up the mount for Ken McPeek.

Race 10: # 1 Abbot Hall takes a big drop in class for this run and should be ready today. She faced stakes foes in her last two efforts and should run well in this allowance race. This is her third start off of the bench which is key and since that last run she has fired a sharp workout over the oval to prep for this outing. With Brian Hernandez, Jr. in the saddle look for improvement from Abbot Hall

Indiana Downs

Race 6: # 4 Marble Cliff is a standout in this bunch and should win for fun tonight. He romped in his last two efforts and just seems to perform better over regular dirt. Since his last run he has a strong workout over the River Downs oval and just seems ready to roll. With Rodney Prescott in the saddle look for Marble Cliff to come home first as the Cincinnati Kid play of the Day!!!

Spot Plays for 5/21/2009

River Downs

Race 8: # 7 Pretty Big Deal ships in from Presque Isle today and should improve. Some horses just don't take to the Tapeta up there and horses returning to regular dirt do very well. He turns back to a sprint distance today and gets the underated rider Manfredi Guzman in the irons. Look for Pretty Big Deal to pull an upset today.

Race 12: # 4 Duty Roster returns to River from Indy should run well. His last River outing was solid and might have been a little over his head at Indy. He shortens up to a distance that he really likes and should improve greatly. Yuri Yaranga returns to the irons today for Joe Woodard

Arlington Park

Race 4: # 4 Editors Ransom makes her first start of the year and should fire first off the bench. She won for fun last out and since has put in a couple of solid workouts to prep for this race. She does really well over polytrack and should fit in nicely with this bunch. Junior Alvarado is a solid jockey and should get Editors Ransom home first today

Race 8: # 6 Xena's Emperor gets on the turf for the first time today and should get to the wire first. He ran well over the poly before getting tired and should step his game up on the lawn. He is bred to run on the grass and gets a turf-mined rider in James Graham who is one of the best on the grounds. Look for Xena's Emperor to take the top spot today.

Spot Plays for 5/20/2009

Indiana Downs

Race 2: # 5 Seaside Storm ships back to Indy for this race and should step his game up today. He faced much tougher at Churchill last time should enjoy the move to Indy and picking up a softer condition than what he has faced. His last couple have been over sloppy track and he might have not handled them all that well. Catching a fast track today should be key. Leandro Goncalves retains the mount today

Race 5: # 6 Friendly Trump gets on the turf for the first time today and should be more effective. He's bred to like the turf better so moving to the lawn could be a benefit. He put in a solid run in his debut over the slop here at Indy and seems to be ready to improve. With a jock change to Rodney Prescott look for a winning run from Friendly Trump today.

Race 7: # 3 Qsar is the standout in this bunch and should run away from this field today. He ran away from a similar group last out on the dirt and can run even better on the lawn. He has more wins on the grass than any other runner in this field and seems to tower over all. With Orlando Mojica in the saddle again look for Qsar on top as the Cincinnati Kid Play of the Day!

Spot Plays for 5/19/2009

River Downs

Race 5: # 9 First Magnitude stepped up nicely last out and should take another step forward today. He got rained off the turf last time and may improve getting on the lawn today. His last effort seems to be a key race as the second place finisher came back to win and the winner ran second on the lawn. Eric Reed does really well here at River and surely he has First Magnitude ready to roll today. Edgar Paucar picks up the mount

Race 7: # 7 Skiptothegoodpart likes this oval and should get the job done today. He is a turf and distance specialist as six of his eight wins have come over the lawn at this five furlong distance. He has a string of solid workouts for this return and should run big today. Look for a winning return from Skiptothegoodpart today.

Indiana Downs

Race 3: # 1 Jib makes her second start off of a layoff and should improve today. She loves the turf and should handle the drop in track class today. Miguel Mena comes up from Kentucky for the ride which is a positive sign, Look for a winning effort from Jib today.

Mountaineer

Race 8: # 7 Braggs to Riches just missed in her return to the races and should step up again today. She chased the pace and just faded late and should be fit for this run. Louis Stokes fits this runner well and she seems to run better at the Mountain. Hopefully she can get home first tonight.

Spot Plays for 5/17/2009

River Downs

Race 6: # 7 Keep Sam In Cheq takes a drop in class for this effort and should turn things around today. He has been way over his head in the last couple and this drop to the softer condition will help. He likes an off going and with all the ran in the area as of late the track should be good and wet. Look for Keep Sam In Cheq to pop at a price today

Race 7: # 3 Oriental Princess makes one of my favorite moves today and should be tough to beat. I love horses turning back from the lawn to the main track and more importantly she ran well in that turf outing. She returns to state-bred competition today which is another key. She gets a new jock today in Edgar Paucar who is quietly having a good meet here at River. Look for Oriental Princess to take the top spot as the Cincinnati Kid Play of the Day!!!

Arlington

Race 3: # 3 Gun Salute returns to Arlington today for a new barn and should add another win to his resume today. He faced much softer at Keeneland and was claimed out of that effort. Hopefully he does well for his new barn. He has handled turf as well as polytrack and surely he can get the job done today. Jesse Campbell picks up the mount today

Race 9: # 1 Bar Babe ships in from Oaklawn today looking to get back to the winner's circle today. She has run two decent efforts since breaking her maiden and should enjoy the added furlong today. She has a few decent workouts over the oval and Oaklawn shippers have been hot early on at Arlington. With Eddie Razo, Jr. in the saddle look for a winning effort from Bar Babe today

Churchill Downs

Race 5: # 5 Soda Jerk makes his debut today looking to find the wire at first asking. He has been working up a storm at Keeneland and seems to be fit for this run. Offsprings of Smarty Jones are winning everything in sight as of late and trainer Rusty Arnold is off to a solid start at this Churchill meeting. Look for a winning effort from Soda Jerk today.

Race 9: # 4 Tizdejavu returns off the bench today and really outclasses this bunch. He was last seen setting the pace in a grade 1 at Arlington last year and might have been slightly over his head. His career really took off last season on this turf course with a pair of big wins in graded stakes company. He has been working well for this return and gets the best turf rider on the ground in Julien Leparoux. Look for a return to the winner's cirlce for Tizdejavu today

Spot Plays for 5/16/2009

River Downs

Race 3: # 9 Dying Star is a first time starter that looks ready to roll today. This well-bred daughter of Dynaformer has been working up a storm and trainer John Good rarely comes to Cincy with a loser. This field is softer than anything she would face in Kentucky and if on her game should run away from this bunch. Casey Chavez in the saddle today.

Race 9: # 3 Head to Toe makes his second start off of a layoff and should be much better today. He is a much stronger route horse than sprint horse so hopefully the strechout will help. He is two for three at this distance which is key and Otto Thorwarth fits this runner well. Head to Toe always runs well second off a layoff and lets look for him to do it again today

Pimlico

Race 8: # 2 Everyday Heroes comes into this race undefeated and should add another win to his resume today. Oaklawn shippers have been on fire everywhere they go and trainer Tim Ritchey knows how to get a runner ready. Since his last Oaklawn race he has put in three solid workouts and seems to be in good shape. With Jose Caraballo in the saddle look for a price from Everyday Heroes today

Race 12: The Preakness: # 7 Papa Clem was my derby pick and I have to stick with him again today. He just ran out of gas late in the Derby and might be better at this shorter distance. He had a sharp blowout the other day and should be ready to roll. With Rafael Bejarano in the saddle look for Papa Clem to pull the upset

Spot Plays for 5/15/2009

River Downs

Race 12: # 2 Dancing Don makes his third start off of the polytrack and should be much more effective. He has faced tougher runners in his first two starts over the oval and might find this race more suiting to him. There is some speed for him to chase and hopefully he can close well and get the top spot. Mathieu Adam retains the mount for trainer Kathy Lowry

Arlington Park

Race 5: # 6 Flying the Flag makes his second start today and should improve greatly. He showed very little over the Turf down at Tampa and must have not taken to that surface. Offsprings of Bernstein seem to hand polytrack just fine and he has a few strong works over at Keeneland for this effort. Christophe Clement doesn't ship to Arlington that often but when he does he comes loaded. Look for a winning effort from Flying the Flag today

Race 9: # 1 Celluloid Hero returns to Arlington and should get the job done today. He has been off since November and seemed to have needed that break. He has a string of workouts for this return and always fires fresh. His last Arlington run was great and hopefully he can return to that effort and get to the wire first today. Rene Douglas picks up the mount today

Indiana Downs

Race 7: # 3 Lovie won for fun in her main track debut at River and should transfer her form well to the Indy dirt track. She has some speed when in good form and should be on or near the front in the early stages. She shortens up in distance today and gets a new jock in Rodney Prescott who is one of the best in Indy. Look for a big run from Lovie today.

Pimlico

Race 6: # 3 Ahvee's Destiny ran big in her 2009 debut and surely can double up today. We have seen horses ship up from Gulfstream and run very well and hopefully she can keep the trend going. She really love the turf with 7 of her 8 wins coming over the lawn. With C. C. Lopez in the saddle lets hope that Ahvee's Destiny's Pimlico debut is a winning one

Spot Plays for 5/14/2009

River Downs

Race 7: # 6 Storm Bay returns to the River and takes a drop in class that will help her get home today. She faced starter allowance foes at Beulah last time and might have been over her head. Her last River effort was a decent third and surely she can improve with another run over this oval. With Cesar Camaque back in the saddle look for Storm Bay to take another step forward today.

Race 11: # 4 Steelyeyed is a solid runner that fits well in this spot. He ran a big race on Derby day over the Beulah oval and that was against starter allowance company. He moves to the claiming ranks today and returns to an oval where he has run well. He can handle an off track and with all the rain the last couple of days the track should be off today. Look for a big run from Steelyeyed today.

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 3 Swans Nest improved greatly in her last race and should keep that roll going today. She won for fun in her polytrack debut and hopefully can handle the Arlington polytrack today. She runs very well at this distance and should give a good effort today. Rene Douglas picks up the mount today

Race 9: # 3 Excessive Heat steps up in class today and has a big chance. She loves this distance as seven of her eight wins have come at the five furlong distance. Don't know if this race will stay on the turf or not but she has proven herself on polytrack as well as turf. E. T. Baird retains the mount today.

Churchill Downs

Race 2: # 5 Reagan's Wildcat makes her debut today and should make it a winning one today. Trainer Ken McPeek does wonders with 2-year-olds and he should have this one primed and ready to roll today. This distance should fit her nicely and with Brian Hernandez, Jr. in the saddle you can expect a decent price on Reagan's Wildcat today.

Churchill Downs

Race 3: # 7 My Little Connor drops slightly in class and shortens up in distance for this run and should be more effective. He ran a decent second last out and might have needed that race. With the shorter distance and the drop to starter $5,000 level look for an even better effort. Julien Leparoux picks up the mount today for David Vance

Race 8: # 4 Parade Clown drops in class today looking to regain his winning form. He has been knocking heads with stakes foes as of late and the move to the allowance ranks to fit him well. He tries dirt for the first time today and hopefully he can transfer his best form to the conventional stuff today. Miguel Mena picks up the mount today

Indiana Downs

Race 6: # 4 Jazzy hasn't showed much in her first two starts this year but should improve today. She makes her first start over the Indy turf course and surely can step her game up. She needs some pace to chase and should get it in this spot. Miguel Mena makes the trip up from Churchill for the mount. Hopefully they can pop at a price today.

Spot Plays for 5/12/2009

River Downs

Race 5: # 7 Princess Christine drops in class today looking to add another win to her River Downs resume. She won gamely against starter allowance foes and should improve moving to the claiming ranks and facing Buckeye-bred foes today. She keeps the services of Perry Ouzts who is on fire this season and the Wayne Bearden barn is hot as well. Look for a winning effort from Princess Christine today.

Race 6: # 5 Devil's Lil Bit makes her first start off of a claim and should be ready for this outing. Since being claimed she has put in two solid workouts including one over this oval and could be fit. She has never been on the turf but her breeding suggest that she can handle turf and the added distance. She moves up in class today so look out for Devil's Lil Bit. Cesar Camaque picks up the mount today.

Race 8: # 8 I Can't Know returns from the bench today looking to get back to his winning ways. He has been working out well over the River oval as well as the polytrack at Turfway and should be fit to fire. He has a win over this turf course which most of this field doesn't and that will give him an advantage. With Azael De Leon in the irons look for a solid effort from I Can't Know today

Indiana Downs

Race 7: # 4 Radar Man makes his second start of 2009 and should be ready for this effort. He seems to be better at routes than sprints so that last outing was probably a tuneup. He moves to the turf for the first time but should handle it since he has handle poly so well at Turfway and Keeneland. With Diego Rodriguez in the irons look for a solid run from Radar Man

Mountaineer

Race 8: # 5 Stolen Chevy returns from the bench today looking to regain his winning form. He was on a roll last spring at the Mountain and hopefully can return to that level. He ran well at Keeneland before going to the bench since then has but together a few good workout to prep. With Marco Ccamaque in the saddle look for a big run from Stolen Chevy today

Race 6: # 6 Dooze takes a slight drop in class for this effort and should run well today. He faced stakes competition and ran well pressing the pace before tiring in the lane. He shortens up in distance and should be the speed of the speed in this spot. Third start off the claim looks promising today. Yuri Yaranga retains the mount today.

Race 7: # 5 Sybles Angel drops back to the allowance ranks today and should fit well in this spot. She just missed against stakes foes last time and should be very effective today. She stretches out to a distance where she has been effective in the past and surely she can get the job done today at a square price. Hector Rosario, Jr. retains the mount on Sybles Angel

Arlington Park

Race 5: # 7 On the Sneak makes his debut today looking to get to the wire first today. He's had a couple of decent works across town at Hawthorne and seems to be sharps. Offsprings of Speightstown seem to fire early and hopefully On the Sneak will be ready at first asking for Larry Rivelli today.

Race 7: # 10 Diva in Training returns from the bench today and should be ready to fire off of the break. She struggled last season over the polytrack and the dirt at Arlington and Hawthorne and really woke up when finally getting to the grass in her last start of 2008. Since then she has a string of workouts to prepare for the return and should be fit. Bugboy Mike Straight has looked good so far this season and hopefully we can get a price on Diva in Training today.

Spot Plays for 5/9/2009

River Downs

Race 10: # 6 Lil E's Express is rounding into form and should pop at a price today. He just missed last out in the mud against open claimers and could improve picking up a condition today. With all the rain in the area as of late the track should be off and Lil E's Express can really handle off going. He has stepped his game up since Cesar Camaque took the reigns and surely he can get him home first today.

Arlington Park

Race 6: # 2 Cool C Note returns to the Arlington lawn for this effort and should be in good form. He won well against softer at Oaklawn but might have needed that win for confidence. Since then he has put in two sharp workouts over the polytrack and seems to be coming into his own. The Scott Becker barn has been hot as of late and with Rene Douglas in saddle look for a big run from Cool C Note today.

Race 10: # 2 Telling really improved returning to grass last out and could be ready for this spot today. He seems to like this turf course and hopefully is not over the top after his last. When he is in good form look out and this could be the start of a run for Telling

Belmont Park

Race 9: # 3 Charitable Man returns to conventional dirt and that should be the key the victory today. He didn't run a jump over the poly at Keeneland plus he needed that race with it being his first in six months. He is a graded stakes winner over this oval and surely can regain his winning form. With Alan Garcia in the saddle look for Charitable Man to return to his winning ways

River Downs

Race 7: # 1 New Diva stretches out for this effort and should be the best. She is bred to be a distance runner so hopefully that last race was just a tune up. She adds blinkers for this race which should have her closer and hopefully she can get home first today. Perry Ouzts picks up the mount for Kris Nemann

Race 9: # 3 Dash Rendar returns to the River today looking to round into winning form. He was a decent third last out after some traffic trouble and should improve today. He has a win over the oval and gets one of the best on the grounds Perry Ouzts to pilot him today. Look for a winning effort from Dash Rendar.

Arlington Park

Race 5: # 3 D' Code drops in class for this outing and should be effective. This is his second start of the year so he should be fitter and he returns to polytrack racing where he has three wins from six starts. He gets a new jock in Brandon Meier who has come out like a house of fire this season and surely can get D' Code to the wire first at a price

Race 10: # 4 Load a Chronic steps up to the starter allowance level looking to extend his win streak. He loves the grass with most of his wins and earning coming over the lawn. This is his third start off of a layoff and surely he will be fit for the run. Eddie Razo, Jr. rides for Manny Perez

Race 9: # 2 Emma Darling returns from the bench today looking to get back to the winner's circle she is undefeated over the dirt ar Churchill and may step her game up. She has a string of sharp workouts to prepare for the return and gets a new jock in Shaun Bridgmohan which could be key. Look for a sharp return from Emma Darling today

Race 12: # 5 Poker Princess comes into this spot on a two race win streak and looks to make it three in a row today. She has flashed a ton of speed in her last couple at Beulah and should be on or near the lead early in this spot. She has won over this oval in the past and can handle fast as well as off goings. With Edgar Paucar back in the saddle look for a winning effort from Poker Princess

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 1 First Movement returns from the shelf today looking to get back to the winner's circle. He's in a level that fits and loves this surface at Arlington with 7 of his 10 wins coming here. The Larry Rivelli barn is hot right now and with E. T. Baird in the irons look for a big return from First Movement

Belmont Park

Race 1: # 7 Hedgefund Investor makes his first start off a claim by Scott Lake and should be ready to roll today. The Lake barn is solid first off the claim and seem to spot their horses well. This son of Tale of the Cat shortens up in distance but stays on the turf which is key. Ramon Dominguez picks up the mount which is key

Race 8: # 5 Alcomo ships to Belmont for the first time looking to get to the winner's circle. He was a decent second at Hawthorne and should improve with the extra distance. This runner is much better as the races get longer and hopefully he can spring a slight upset today.

Churchill Downs

Race 4: # 5 Loveyou Everybody drops back to the allowance level today and should get the job done. She may have been over hear head in the last couple and the drop in class should help. She has had a string of solid workouts over the oval and should be ready for today's contest. Robby Albarado gets back aboard today

Spot Plays for 5/6/2009

Belmont Park

Race 1: 3 Mister Alimony returns to the site of his last win and should step his game up today. He has been facing much tougher in the Starter Handicap ranks as well as allowance foes at Penn National. Dropping into the condition claiming ranks could be the key. With Alan Garcia in the saddle look for improvement from Mister Alimony today.

Race 7: # 6 Captain's Lover is a very classy runner that fits well in this race today. She is a grade 1 winner in South Africa and a grade 3 winner in France. Since her last start she has put together a string of workouts that shows she is fit and ready to roll. Garret Gomez picks up the mount today

Churchill Downs

Race 5: # 3 Formal Dannie just missed last out against similar and should fit in with this bunch today. She is in good form right now and blew away a competitive allowance field at Beulah Park back in March. She may not have taken to the slop track last time and should run better today. The bugboy Christian Santiago Reyes picks up the mount.

Race 8: # 3 Tap Dancing drops to the allowance level today looking to turn things around. He tried stakes competition going 1 5/8 miles and seemed to be over his head. Dropping back to an allowance race, shortening up to 1 3/8 miles and moving back to the turf all boded well for Tap Dancing. With Julian Leparoux in the irons look for a big run today.

Indiana Downs

Race 4: # 8 Qsar ships back to Indy for this effort and might be fit and ready. He just got up last out in stater allowance company and should shift his form well. He moves back to the turf course where he has won eight of his eleven outings. Gets a new jock in Orlando Mojica who is one of the best in Indy. Look for Qsar to come home first today.

Race 6: # 11 Iron Id ships to Indy for the first time and should be very effective. He really ran well over the turf and Tampa and hopefully his form will transfer to this oval. He has a string of workouts for this outing which could be key and Phil Teator fits this runner like a glove. Look for another good effort from Iron Id today

River Downs:

Race 3: Longshot Play # 3 Look At This Cat is making his third start off a layoff and might be ready today. This is his second start off of the polytrack which has been a key angle at River this season and picks up the riding services of Pablo Tolentino who is quietly having a good season at River. This horse likes the oval with 2 of his 3 wins coming in Cincinnati. Look for Look At This Cat to pop at a price today.

Race 5: # 1 Dancing Don was a decent fourth against similar last out and should run better today. This is his second effort off of the polytrack which is key and he may not have liked the mud last time as he has never hit the board on an off track. Getting a fast track today should help.

Race 8: Cincinnati Kid Play of the Day # 2 Halmi was a solid fourth in his 2009 debut last out and should improve greatly today. He stretches out for this effort and his last start is looking like a key race as the second place finisher came back to win for fun at Thistle this past weekend. Look for a winning effort from Halmi as the Cincinnati Kid Play of the Day.

Indiana Downs

Race 2: # 8 Having Faith makes her first start off of a claim for Dougie Cowans and should find the winner's circle today. She stretches out to a mile today and shifts to the turf which should help her cause. The move from Keeneland to Indiana should be enough for Having Faith to come home first today.

Mountaineer

Race 8: # 3 Pulpit's Jet moves back to the proper condition and should run better. He tried non-winners of three last time and should run better facing two life foes today. He might be picking a fight today with this bunch but should be effective with Ricky Knott in the saddle

Race 9: # 6 River Spey is a standout in this field and should run away from this bunch. She's undefeated over this oval and should make it two for two today. Look for a romp from River Spey today. Deshawn Parker picks up the mount for Wayne McDonnell

Cincy Kid Spot Plays for 5/1/2009

Arlington Park:

RACE 3: # 10 Daves River was a decent third in his debut and should improve today. He stretches out to the mile for this and shifts to the turf where he should be more effective. Eddie Perez retains the mount for Tom Swearingen which could be key. Look for a good run today

Race 8: # 5 Numismatist comes into this stakes off of two straight wins and should be a factor at a big price. His running style fits this surface and he should get plenty of early speed to chase. Race 5: 1 Munnings returns off this bench for this effort and should be ready to fire today. He was solid as a 2-year-old placing in the Grade 1 Hopeful and Champange. Since a poor effort at Santa Anita he has been resting up and working well at Palm Meadows in Florida. The team of Todd Pletcher and John Velazquez are tough to beat and should have Munnings ready to roll today

Race 12: # 7 Macramae is a standout in this bunch and should run really well today. She romped in her debut at Beulah and since has a sharp workout down at Turfway to prepare.
