Spot Plays for 5/16/2009

River Downs

Race 3: # 9 Dying Star is a first time starter that looks ready to roll today. This well-bred daughter of Dynaformer has been working up a storm and trainer John Good rarely comes to Cincy with a loser. This field is softer than anything she would face in Kentucky and if on her game should run away from this bunch. Casey Chavez in the saddle today.

Race 9: # 3 Head to Toe makes his second start off of a layoff and should be much better today. He is a much stronger route horse than sprint horse so hopefully the strechout will help. He is two for three at this distance which is key and Otto Thorwarth fits this runner well. Head to Toe always runs well second off a layoff and lets look for him to do it again today

Pimlico

Race 8: # 2 Everyday Heroes comes into this race undefeated and should add another win to his resume today. Oaklawn shippers have been on fire everywhere they go and trainer Tim Ritchey knows how to get a runner ready. Since his last Oaklawn race he has put in three solid workouts and seems to be in good shape. With Jose Caraballo in the saddle look for a price from Everyday Heroes today

Race 12: The Preakness: # 7 Papa Clem was my derby pick and I have to stick with him again today. He just ran out of gas late in the Derby and might be better at this shorter distance. He had a sharp blowout the other day and should be ready to roll. With Rafael Bejarano in the saddle look for Papa Clem to pull the upset
