Spot Plays for 5/23/2009

River Downs

Race 8: # 7 Eyes for Hannah is rounding into form and should be very effective today. He tried to get on the lawn two starts ago but was rained off and could finally get to the wire first with a return to the grass. He has hit the board in seven of eight grass runnings and hopefully can get home first today. Azael De Leon retains the mount.

Race 12: # 5 Burky's Pride won for fun last time out and looks to double up today. He faced similar runners in his last at Beulah and hopefully can carry that form to the River today. This field is a bit tougher than what he faced at Beulah but his past experience here should help. With Edgar Paucar in the saddle look for a winning run from Burky's Pride

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 8 Afternoon Stroll is a gusty filly that is looking to win her second straight today. She just held on over the lawn at Keeneland and the grit she showed it key. Since that last effort she has fired two sharp workouts at Presque Isle which is the summer base of her trainer Tim Hamm. With Jamie Theriot back in the saddle look for another winning effort from Afternoon Stroll today

Race 10: # 8 Coragil Cat is a true horse for course on the Arlington poly and should get home first today. He return to the oval was a sharp win in the prep for this stakes and since then he has put in a decent work that shows he's fit. Diego Sanchez fits well with this runner and surely they can get the job done today.

Race 11: # 6 Flashmans Papers returns to the turf today and should be much more effective. He tried the polytrack at Santa Anita and didn't show much last out and a return to the lawn helps greatly. Brice Blanc comes east for this mount which is a key sign. Look for a big run from Flashmans Papers today
