Spot Plays for 5/6/2009

Belmont Park

Race 1: 3 Mister Alimony returns to the site of his last win and should step his game up today. He has been facing much tougher in the Starter Handicap ranks as well as allowance foes at Penn National. Dropping into the condition claiming ranks could be the key. With Alan Garcia in the saddle look for improvement from Mister Alimony today.

Race 7: # 6 Captain's Lover is a very classy runner that fits well in this race today. She is a grade 1 winner in South Africa and a grade 3 winner in France. Since her last start she has put together a string of workouts that shows she is fit and ready to roll. Garret Gomez picks up the mount today

Churchill Downs

Race 5: # 3 Formal Dannie just missed last out against similar and should fit in with this bunch today. She is in good form right now and blew away a competitive allowance field at Beulah Park back in March. She may not have taken to the slop track last time and should run better today. The bugboy Christian Santiago Reyes picks up the mount.

Race 8: # 3 Tap Dancing drops to the allowance level today looking to turn things around. He tried stakes competition going 1 5/8 miles and seemed to be over his head. Dropping back to an allowance race, shortening up to 1 3/8 miles and moving back to the turf all boded well for Tap Dancing. With Julian Leparoux in the irons look for a big run today.

Indiana Downs

Race 4: # 8 Qsar ships back to Indy for this effort and might be fit and ready. He just got up last out in stater allowance company and should shift his form well. He moves back to the turf course where he has won eight of his eleven outings. Gets a new jock in Orlando Mojica who is one of the best in Indy. Look for Qsar to come home first today.

Race 6: # 11 Iron Id ships to Indy for the first time and should be very effective. He really ran well over the turf and Tampa and hopefully his form will transfer to this oval. He has a string of workouts for this outing which could be key and Phil Teator fits this runner like a glove. Look for another good effort from Iron Id today
