Spot Plays for 10/2/2009

Belmont Park

Race 8: # 6 Cavallo Pazzo has won four straight races over four different tracks and should make it five in a row today. His connections have spotted him well in his last few starts and this distance and condition fits him well. Since his last he has a solid workout over his home base at Delaware and should be ready to roll today. Ramon Dominguez picks up the mount today.

Turfway Park

Race 6: # 4 Whispering Heat returns to her favorite oval and should get the job done today. She has been off since June and has a couple of decent workouts to show she is fit. She seems to like all-weather surfaces more the regular dirt so hopefully she will wake up over this oval. With James Lopez aboard look for a strong effort from Whispering Heat today.

Race 9: # 7 Bee Line's Edge drops in class for this effort and should step forward today. He picks up a softer condition for this run which is key and if he move forward off of his last effort he should win for fun. Victor Lebron picks up the mount which is a very good sign. Look for a strong run from Bee Line's Edge today.

Spot Plays for 10/1/2009

Belmont Park

Race 2: # 7 Uno Peso has just missed in his last couple and should put it all together today. She has been facing weaker but seems to be rounding into form. She has faced some of these foes in the past and could fit right in. If on her game look for a strong effort from Uno Peso today.

Turfway Park

Race 9: # 3 On Your Knees makes a sideways move in the condition book looking to return to her winning ways. She has been competitive over the turf and dirt up at River and may get back to the winner's circle on the poly. She has been working hard since her last effort and should be fit for this effort. With Pablo Tolentino aboard look for a strong effort from On Your Knees

Spot Play for 9/27/2009

Arlington Park

Race 2: # 1 Airtight didn't show anything in his debut but should improve today. He drops in class for this effort and move to the grass which could help him. His breeding suggest he may improve on the lawn and comes from a barn that is very strong. E. T. Baird rides which is a very good sign.

Spot Plays for 9/26/2009

Turfway Park

Race 7: # 3 Mountain Trail makes his second start today and should move forward off of his last. He lacked late punch over the Hoosier oval last time and may enjoy the poly at Turfway better. Offsprings of Cactus Ridge do very well over this oval and the jock switch to Joe Johnson might be key. Look for a winning effort from Mountain Trail today.

Race 10: # 10 Indescribable returns to all-weather racing today and should find the winner's circle. She has been going backwards lately but those efforts were against tougher on the turf at Saratoga. She moves back to polytrack where she has four of her six wins and gets Garret Gomez which is always a plus. Look for a good effort from Indescribable today.

Race 12: # 4 Big Push loves all-weather surfaces and should excel in his Turfway debut. He has three of his four wins on all-weather surfaces and trains over one at Fair Hill in Maryland. He has been working well for this effort and with Robby Albarado aboard look for a winning effort from Big Push today.

Race 13: # 9 Dubious Miss is rounding into form and should get home first today. He was a decent second last out over poly at Arlington and seems to handle it just as well as dirt. He gets the riding services of Calvin Borel who has never lost on this runner and should extend his win streak on Dubious Miss today.

Presque Isle Downs

Race 6: # 10 Angus Kahn is one for one over this oval and should return to his winning ways today. He didn't handle the dirt too well last out but seems to be a better runner on all-weather ovals. Since his last he has fired four strong workouts over the polytrack at Keeneland and seems fit to fire today. Ronnie Allen, Jr. rides which is key.

Spot Plays for 9/23/2009

Belmont Park

Race 3: # 6 Malibu Prayer drops from graded stakes company for this effort and should improve. She just tired a little alst time and this shorter distance will be what she needs. Her last run over the Belmont oval was a second behind Rachel the Great so hopefully she learned something from that effort. She has lost to some great horses in the past and hopefully her class will show through today.

Turfway Park

Race 3: # 2 Diva At the Top makes her third start off of a layoff today and should step forward. She won off the bench and may have regressed in her last. A little time off and a return to her favorite surface should be key for Diva At the Top. Perry Ouzts retains the mount which is a good sign.

Race 6: # 4 Distorted Gem makes his second start off of a layoff and could be ready for this effort. He likes this oval and might have been over his head last out. Drops in claiming price today which should be key. He likes this oval and should step forward today.

Spot Plays for 9/20/2009

Belmont Park

Race 6: # 6 Asphalt ran okay in his debut and should improve greatly today. He is bred to love the turf and trying it today should be the key to victory. His last race might be key as the second place finisher came back to win. With Ramon Dominguez aboard look for a winning effort from Asphalt today.

Woodbine

Race 4: # 6 Points of Grace returns to her favorite surface and should improve today. She got bumped around last time against much tougher at Arlington and could step forward with a cleaner trip. Her last run over the Woodbine turf was a winning one and with the underrated Luis Contreras aboard look for a good run from Points of Grace today.

Race 8: # 5 Marsh Side has been working well for this effort and should fire well today. He might have been a little tired after coming back from Dubai and didn't run all that well in his two return outings. Since then he has had some time off and some strong works out in California and one decent work over the oval. He won last year's Canadian International and could be getting ready to defend his title. Look for a good run from Marsh Side today.

Race 10: # 5 Bribon is a flat mile specialist and should run big today. He might be better on dirt than turf but he can handle the lawn okay. He has won or been competitive in some of the best mile races in the U.S. and should fire today. Look for Alan Garcia to guide Bribon home first today.

Spot Plays for 9/19/2009

Woodbine

Race 5: # 6 Elusive Galaxy just missed against graded company last out and should move forward today. She faced tough foes back in Ireland and should have a class edge over this group. She gets lasix for the first time today and the riding services of Rafael Bejarano which will be key. Look for a winning effort from Elusive Galaxy today

Race 8: # 8 Fantastico Roberto ships north of the boarder for this effort and should run big today. His connections paid good money to get him into this race so he must be ready to roll. He scratched out of a race on Labor Day and has a good work since then for this start. Chris DeCarlo ships up for the mount

Louisiana Downs

Race 8: # 8 William's Kitten was roughed up in his last start and hopefully he can improve from that run. Since that effort he has put in a solid workout and his last start might be key as the winner has come back to win since that effort. He gets Garret Gomez aboard which is very positive. If the race stays on the grass look for William's Kitten to run big today.

Turfway Park/Kentucky Downs

Race 3: # 6 Blushing Bear didn't show much against tougher in France last out and should improve today. She has been working well since shipping to the states and should enjoy a little firmer footing. With Rosemary Homeister, Jr. aboard look for a good effort from Blushing Bear today.

Race 8: # 7 Maestro Miss makes her first start today and should run well. Her works have been okay and her breeding suggest she can handle polytrack and this long distance. Ken McPeek does wonders with two-year-olds and should have Maestro Miss ready to roll in her debut.

Race 10: # 6 Hold the Salt smashed a 19-year-old track record in his last outing at River and should run a big race today. He loves this oval with two wins from two starts and should have an advantage over this bunch. His last out may be key as the second place finisher came back to win in his next out. Look for a big run from Hold the Salt today.

Arlington Park

Race 5: # 8 Maple Heights is bred to run all day on the lawn and should fire first out today. Her works have been strong for the debut and she gets Jesse Campbell who has been on fire as of late. The outside post will not hurt and surely Maple Heights can run a big one today.
