Spot Plays for 9/19/2009

Woodbine

Race 5: # 6 Elusive Galaxy just missed against graded company last out and should move forward today. She faced tough foes back in Ireland and should have a class edge over this group. She gets lasix for the first time today and the riding services of Rafael Bejarano which will be key. Look for a winning effort from Elusive Galaxy today

Race 8: # 8 Fantastico Roberto ships north of the boarder for this effort and should run big today. His connections paid good money to get him into this race so he must be ready to roll. He scratched out of a race on Labor Day and has a good work since then for this start. Chris DeCarlo ships up for the mount

Louisiana Downs

Race 8: # 8 William's Kitten was roughed up in his last start and hopefully he can improve from that run. Since that effort he has put in a solid workout and his last start might be key as the winner has come back to win since that effort. He gets Garret Gomez aboard which is very positive. If the race stays on the grass look for William's Kitten to run big today.

Turfway Park/Kentucky Downs

Race 3: # 6 Blushing Bear didn't show much against tougher in France last out and should improve today. She has been working well since shipping to the states and should enjoy a little firmer footing. With Rosemary Homeister, Jr. aboard look for a good effort from Blushing Bear today.

Race 8: # 7 Maestro Miss makes her first start today and should run well. Her works have been okay and her breeding suggest she can handle polytrack and this long distance. Ken McPeek does wonders with two-year-olds and should have Maestro Miss ready to roll in her debut.

Race 10: # 6 Hold the Salt smashed a 19-year-old track record in his last outing at River and should run a big race today. He loves this oval with two wins from two starts and should have an advantage over this bunch. His last out may be key as the second place finisher came back to win in his next out. Look for a big run from Hold the Salt today.

Arlington Park

Race 5: # 8 Maple Heights is bred to run all day on the lawn and should fire first out today. Her works have been strong for the debut and she gets Jesse Campbell who has been on fire as of late. The outside post will not hurt and surely Maple Heights can run a big one today.
