Spot Plays for 9/18/2009

Belmont Park

Race 3: # 2 Midshipman returns from the bench today and the 2-year-old champion of last year should be ready to fire fresh. He has been workings strongly for this debut and he is bred to handle this distance. This biggest question is how will he handle conventional dirt but that shouldn't be a problem for him. He goes to a new barn and gets a new jock in Richard Migliore and hopefully they can get home on top today.

Race 8: # 4 Inca King steps back up in class for this effort but should run well today. He won against high-end claimers last out and that field was pretty tough. He has the back class to fit in this spot and should get home first today. Shaun Bridgmohan rides for Steve Asmussen

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 9 Cosmic King woke up last out on the turf and should handle this move up in class. His last race looks key as the second place finisher has come back to win on the turf at Arlington. Since his last run he has put in two strong workouts and should be fit for this run. With Junior Alvarado aboard look for a winning effort from Cosmic King today.

Turfway Park

Race 9: # 1 Lady Seattle returns to her favorite oval and should turn things around today. She hasn't shown much as of late but she didn't take to the turf at Indy or the all-weather at Presque Isle. All of her wins are over this oval and surface and hopefully she can improve her form. With Julio Felix aboard look for a winning effort today.
