Spot Plays for 6/14/2009

River Downs

Race 4: # 5 First Magnitude won for fun in his turf debut and should make it two in a row today. He steps up to the allowance ranks from claimers but has the skill and the breeding to suggest he can handle it. He comes from a hot barn and gets one of the better jockeys around which could key a big run. Look for a good run from First Magnitude today.

Race 8: # 6 Prince Jenna returns to his favorite surface and track and should run big today. She didn't show much in her last outing but might be better stretching out and getting back on the turf. Both of her wins have come over this turf course so hopefully she can pick her game up. With Edgar Paucar aboard look for a return to the winner's circle for Prince Jenna

Arlington Park

Race 8: # 6 Cool C Note finished well last out and should take a step forward today. He shortens up in distance today looking for a faster pace to chase and should be in fit as he has put in a couple of strong workouts for this return to the track. He gets Chris Emigh in the irons which is a positive sign and the team of Emigh and Scott Becker have been on fire as of late. Look for a big run from Cool C Note today.

Race 10: # 5 Lake Cook makes her third start off of a layoff and should be fit and ready to roll today. She moves back to the grass which is key as she is much better on turf than on poly and she returns in just 10 days which means she is fit and set for a big effort. She was the beaten favorite last out and hopefully she can redeem her fans today. Look for Lake Cook to fire big today.

Mountaineer

Race 1: # 5 Spurious gets on the grass today and should step his game up. He is bred to be a turf runner so surely he can run an improved race tonight. He gets a new jock in T. D. Houghton which could key a nice effort. Look fro Spurious to turn things around and get home first tonight.

Race 3: # 7 Gadda Da Vida looks for her second win at the Mountain and should win for fun. She stretches out and gets on the lawn which make her interesting and the competition is lesser than what she faced in the past. The team of Shanyfelt and Parker are lights out at the Mountain and hopefully Gadda Da Vida can get home first tonight.
