Spot Plays for 6/6/2009

River Downs

Race 9: # 6 Devil's Lil Bit drops in class for this effort and should be able to rebound today. She hasn't shown much in her last couple but those were on the grass and against much tougher than she is facing today. She stretches out in distance and returns to the state-bred ranks which could be key to her sucess today. Edgar Paucar returns to the saddle and he seems to have the keys to this runner. Look for Devil's Lil Bit to turn things around today.

Race 11: # 6 On Your Knees drops in class for today's run and should run a big race at a big price. She has been facing tougher as of late and the drop back to the claiming ranks and picking up a softer condition will be key. She adds blinkers for this racing looking to be closer and gets the best turf jockey on the grounds in Pablo Tolentino. Hopefully she can get a good trip and spring the upset today.

Arlington Park

Race 9: # 5 Taletobetold is the best runner in the field and should win for fun today. She took down a interesting stake field at Indy that was taken off the turf and that effort should build her confidence. Since that race she has put in a good workout at Keeneland and should be fit and ready to roll. James Graham is one of the best turf riders at AP so hopefully the lucky charm can guide Taletobetold to the winner's circle.

Race 11: # 7 Tiger Woodman was closing strong last out and should step up today. He gets and extra 1/16 of a mile to help his closing kick and with the turf being dryer today he should be in good shape. His best races have been over grass courses with less give so surely he can fire today. With The Lucky Charm James Graham in the saddle look for a winning run from Tiger Woodman Today.

Belmont Park

Race 6: # 6 Fabulous Strike just missed last out in a longer race and should get the job done today. He was pushed to his limits in the Carter and almost held on at the 7 furlong distance. He is much better at six furlongs and will show it today. Since the Cater he has put in a string of quick workouts at Penn National and seems to be rounding into shape. He loves an off going and will have no problems getting home first today.

Race 9: # 4 Funny Moon has been improving with each of her starts and should get the job done today at a decent price. She loves the off going as she has won on sloppy as well as good tracks. Her lone start on this oval was very good and since then she has put in a couple of decent workouts that show she is fit. With Alan Garcia in the irons look for a winning effort from Funny Moon today.

Race 10: # 11 Lauro makes his second start off of a layoff today and should be fitter for today's run. He just tired a little last out but that was to be expected. Plus the ground at Pimlico was a bit firmer than he likes. Getting on a soft turf course today should help and with the lack of speed in the spot he can control the pace and could lull them to sleep early. Andrasch Starke ships in from Germany for the mount which is a positive sign. Look for a strong run from Lauro

Race 11: # 6 Charitable Man won for fun last out over the oval and should get home first today. He's undefeated on regular dirt and looks like he might be rounding into form. He is bred for this race being by a Belmont Stakes winner. Plus being out of a Saint Ballado mare he should handle the off going just fine. Alan Garcia fits this horse well and should have no issues getting the job done today.
