Spot Plays for 8/14/2009

River Downs

Race 10: # 3 Crossed Sabres won for fun last out and should double up today. He dropped in from stakes company for that last effort and really enjoyed it. He steps up to the non-winners of a race other than condition and should fit this spot well. Dean Sarvis picks up the mount today.

Race 12: # 2 William's Kitten is the only runner in this field to win going two turns on the turf and should have an advantage over this field. He has the breeding to be great on the grass and comes from a barn that has been hot as of late. Orlando Mojica makes the trip in which is a positive sign.

Saratoga

Race 2: # 3 World Record makes his debut today and this well-bred son of Awesome Again should find the winner's circle at first asking. He has been working nicely for this outing and should be fit today. The barn has been a little cold at this meet but hopefully that will ensure a price on World Record today.

Race 10: # 6 Americain makes his US debut today and could step forward. He shortens in distance today and has won at the 1 1/2 miles in the past in France so hopefully distance will not be an issue. Since shipping to the states he has a string of solid workouts and Belmont and Saratoga and should be ready to fire today. Johnny V picks up the mount for Todd Pletcher

Arlington Park

Race 3: # 7 Dakota Gipsy drops in class for this effort and should improve greatly today. He was in tight and had no rally against graded stakes company last out and the drop to allowance company could be key. Since that effort he has a decent workout over the oval showing he is ready to roll. Larry Sterling, Jr. in the irons could mean a price on Dakota Gipsy today.
